Objectives

The main objective of the Sewage Disposal Education Programme is to create a better understanding of the workings of the sewerage system amongst all communities, with a focus also on first time users of these services. This is done through a number of innovative educational interventions which encourage interactive and participative learning. In considering that blockages throughout the Metro area have reduced by one third over a 12 month period, an attitudinal and behavioural shift has occurred as a result of this ongoing educational programme.
