Control Room
The Traffic Control Room is the heart of our traffic control operation. It is manned during the morning and evening peak periods and staff are around during working hours to attend to fault reports. We literally have traffic information at our fingertips:

ATC system reports any faults

Radio contact with 24 hr robot standby (repair faults) and City Police to attend to resulting traffic problems.

CCTV cameras keep us in the picture so to speak in the CBD area where there are about 40 cameras monitoring the movement of traffic and another 5 high resolution colour cameras used for surveillance of the beachfront area.

The mimic display shows faults at a glance in the Durban and surrounding areas, with a detailed inset of the CBD.
