Traffic OperationsThe Primary function of the Traffic Operations Branch is to investigate road safety and operational problems raised by the public with regard to road markings, traffic signs, parking meters, crash barriers and all associated roadside "furniture". The Branch also provides for public transport facilities, such as bus/taxi shelters and "on-street" stops and ranks.
Some of the secondary functions which the Branch performs are: authorizing road closures and deviations, investigating the impact of advertising signs on traffic, authorizing abnormal vehicle movements, checking on the standard of temporary road signs provided at roadwork and construction sites, and the approval of Bus/Taxi route applications. |
