About Us and Contact DetailsAbout us The Supply Chain Management Unit (SCMU), formerly the Procurement Unit, was established in November 2002, and our aim is to seek value for money on all goods, works and services purchased by the municipality. We continually improve the procurement process so as to obtain best value from the contracts we enter into and to minimise the administration costs of buying. The unit is also responsible for helping to achieve local economic empowerment. We offer guidance, advice and support on all aspects of procurement to all municipal departments and external stakeholders as the unit administers the municipality's Accredited Contractors and Suppliers database.
