City soccer tourney

It's all systems go for the municipality's yearly staff soccer tournament at the Cato Manor sports ground tomorrow.

The 15 teams which registered timeously will play in the tournament, while four teams which missed the deadline will enter playoffs to qualify for a 16th team. "The winning team will play in Potchefstroom on the 23 August," said one of the organisers, Trevor Siziba. In the round robin stage teams will be given 15 minutes each half with two minutes rest at half time.

The top two teams will qualify for the quarter-finals in the knock-out stage as follows:

• Group Awinner v Group B runner-up
• Group B winner v Group Arunner-up
• Group C winner v Group D runner-up
• Group D winner v Group C runner-up

The semi-finals will be as follows:

• Winner 1 v Winner 2
• Winner 3 v Winner 4
