World planning day - save the date
World Planning Day is celebrated across the globe on 8 November annually. It aims to unite Town Planners to share, reflect and learn from each other. It is a special day to recognise and promote the role of planning in creating liveable communities.

Covid -19 and Artificial Intelligence have presented challenges to cites and new ways of planning cities must be adopted.

EThekwini Municipality, together with its partners namely ISOCARP, the University of Kwa-Zulu Nata, SACPLAN, SA Cities Network, the Municipal Institute of Learning and the South African Local Government Association will be celebrating this day with an exciting international webinar from 4 to 6 November.

The topic, ‘The Paradox of Planning Implementation Across the Globe’ will present participants with thought provoking discussions such as Planning for Smart Cities and the 4th Industrial Revolution and Spatial Planning as a Transformational Tool.

The webinar boasts international speakers from African countries who will respond to the various topics for discussion. So, save the date to participate in vibrant and robust discussion in celebrating this event.
