OThongathi drive through vaccination site
EThekwini Municipality in partnership with the provincial government is providing Covid-19 testing and vaccines at the oThongathi drive through site.

The site is situated at the oThongathi Sports Centre and has been praised by patrons for its efficiency.
Services offered include Covid-19 testing which encompasses screening, registration, and testing. The entire process takes less than 15 minutes per person, without them having to leave their vehicle. They can also receive their Covid-19 vaccine at the site, while seated in their vehicle.

Site coordinator Ragani Singh said the site has been busy since it opened. “We have received a positive response from the community of oThongathi and surrounding areas. The drive through section of the site offers ample parking. This allows staff to monitor people after they are vaccinated, while they recuperate in the comfort of their cars,” she said.

The site is close to public transport including the train station, the taxi rank and bus terminals. Sherral Rajcoomar who visited the testing centre with her husband Tyron to get her Covid-19 jab, described the experience as “amazing”. “The staff were very knowledgeable and were able to answer my questions about the vaccine and Covid-19.” For more information contact site coordinator Ragani Singh on 032 944 5054.
