Kerbside recycling programme delay – collection to resume at the end of January
The public is urged to be aware that clear bags used for recycling will not be collected on normal refuse days until the end of the month. This is as a result of the City’s recycling partner MPACT’s recycling plant undergoing repairs due to damage caused during severe storms in October last year.

As a result of the delay, it is anticipated that recycling refuse will be collected at the end of January. Residents are encouraged to keep their bags with recyclables inside their properties during this time.

While the City is experiencing a challenge with the supply of orange bags, clear bags are being distributed in the interim and we request residents to use clear bags for all recyclables.

EThekwini Municipality apologises for any inconvenience caused.
