this year.
ETHEKWINI Municipality continues to take service delivery to the doorsteps of people’s homes, as residents in eMagabheni Township will soon find it easier to access Municipal services in their area with a new Sizakala Centre set to be opened later this year.

The project is estimated to cost about R12 million and will see Municipal services provided by Revenue, Sizakala Centre and Housing Units located under one roof. The local ward Councillor’s office, South Africa Social Security Agency and the Department of Social Development offices will also located at the premises.
The project, which began in September 2016, was initiated by the Municipality’s Economic Development and Investment Promotion Unit, where eMagabheni was identified as an area in need of an upgrade and for services be brought closer to the people.

Celimpilo Zungu, from Sizakala Customer Care Unit said the priority for this year was to open the Sizakala Centre so that people no longer have to travel to other areas to access services. “We always aim to accelerate service delivery.” Chairperson of the Governance and Human Resources Committee, Councillor Barbara Fortein said :“The team will be conducting community awareness education workshops by visiting schools, taxi ranks and other stakeholders so that the community can make full use of the services provided by government at the new Sizakala Centre once it is opened,” said Councillor Fortein.
