City partners with Inter-Africa Trade Fair 2021
EThekwini Municipality’s Economic Development Cluster is partnering with the Inter-Africa Trade Fair 2021 (IATF2021). This is a key event to boost trade in Africa and will be held from 15 to 21 November at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre.

IATF2021 provides a platform to bring together continental and global buyers and sellers. It facilitates opportunities for stakeholders of major African trade and political stakeholders to network and accelerate reach into African markets.

The event is expected to have more than 40 billion US dollars in trade and investment deals signed and is anticipated to attract more than 1 000 exhibitors, more than 10 000 visitors and buyers, and more than 5 000 conference participants from 55 African countries and the rest of the world.

The social economic impact projected for the City over the weeklong event is R235 million in direct spend contributing R580 million to eThekwini’s GDP and an employment contribution of 1 200.

Durban Tourism will also use the event as a destination profiling platform.

To attend IATF2021 go to https://bit.ly/3mGjqdB. Deadline for registration is 15 October.

This year’s theme will focus on the newly launched African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) which allows for a single market for goods and services across 55 countries, aimed at boosting trade and investment. It is the only pan-African B2B cross sector trade fair for African buyers to meet and explore business opportunities and attract investors and trade organisations from around the world and offers support for businesses to finalise their deals.

IATF Virtual is a year-round business platform that allows access for exhibitors and visitors from all sectors ensuring attendees and non-attendees alike can connect in real time during the event, during the year and in between trade fairs.

A highlight of Africa’s creative and cultural calendar, the Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX) will be at IATF2021, enabling hundreds of creatives to exhibit, showcase and network with policy makers, prominent investors and financiers, thought leaders and other creative sector practitioners.

CANEX at IATF2021 will begin on 15 November culminating in a two-day high-level CANEX Summit on 19 and 20 November.
