EThekwini Water and Sanitation Unit would like to emphasise that water will be available during this period, but people need to use the water wisely during this period. . There are different ways one could reduce water demands.
1. Shower instead of having a bath
2. Do not wash cars
3. Do not water the gardens.
4. Do not fill the swimming pool.
5 If possible avoid washing clothes for Sunday.
As major supply line that feeds all our reservoirs in Southern region will be closed, the demand will need to be managed. Water will be available as the reservoirs do have storage of atleast 24 hrs but, the available water will need to be managed for 36 hrs.
Schools and industries that are closed on a Sunday should not be affected, but on Monday during the recovery period they are urged not to waste water.
