eThekwini offers a free public library services at 90 circulating branch libraries across the metropolitan area. Anyone may use the libraries, but only members may loan material. Items on loan must be returned to the same library from which they were borrowed. Details of branch libraries can be found under Contacts.
At Liberty Towers Building on the corner of Dr Pixley Kaseme and Samora Machel Streets there is a Central Reference Library, which includes a significant Africana collection. This is not a lending library but users may consult any of the items in the large collection of reference works.

Everyone is welcome to use the resources of the eThekwini Municipal Library. If you live or work in the eThekwini Area membership is free of charge and valid for two years.
